NIH Design and Technical Support Services

DGI, as part of the DGI-ATI JV LLC, provided A/E design support and CMS to the NIH Office of Research Facilities (ORF) on a $4.4M Contract. The ORF supports the NIH mission by providing, designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining appropriate, safe, healthy, and attractive facilities that are ADA compliant. Our embedded team of professionals supported technical renovation work in buildings that are 60-80+ years old, ensuring new, optimal laboratory and administrative space for world-class scientific research within a landscape of aging facilities. These buildings include multiple generations of renovations which in many cases required specific and unique structural, materials, and utility specifications, adding complexity to the design and build of NIH projects. Among NIH’s many buildings at its Bethesda Campus is the Health Clinical Center, the nation’s largest hospital dedicated to clinical research with about 1,600 ongoing clinical research studies.
